ELTINGA is the brand name of the ELTEcon Centre for Real Estate Research. It is hosted by Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE)
and works in strong collaboration with the Department of Economics
. We believe that economic knowledge can be applied directly to many practical problems, and theoretical aspects have a fundamental role in making successful business decisions. On the other hand, we also believe that good research is inspired by real-life problems. For these reasons, the cooperation between ELTINGA and ELTE is beneficial to both parties.
Compared to developed countries, in Hungary there is little cooperation between the private sector and the academic world, which makes ELTINGA - launched in 2010 - the first university based institution that provides up-to-date analyses of the Hungarian real estate market, as well as consulting and educational services. We aspire to assure that the participants of the Hungarian real estate market make decisions supported by information as comprehensive as their Austrian or North American colleagues. We think of the MIT Center for Real Estate
and Wirtschaftsuniversitat Wien Immobilienwirtschaft Institute
as role models.
The Department of Economics at ELTE runs an Applied Economics program (ELTEcon
), a relatively new concept in Hungary, firmly focusing on the possible applications of theories and methods. The University plays an indispensable role in the functioning of ELTINGA providing it with the knowledge of recognized scientists from a wide variety of fields and with its infrustructure.
